1.Before washing your sarees with soap, keep them soaked in salt water for some time.
2.But do not keep them soaked in water overnight, or even for longer duration as it may lead to discoloration.
3.After soaking, rinse with cold water 2-3 times before proceeding to wash with a detergent.
